Hoag epilepsy experts discuss latest advances in epilepsy treatment in this special recorded presentation by Hoag.

David Millett, MD, PhD is a passionate epileptologist who has established two epilepsy programs over the past 9 years in Southern California. After completing fellowship training in EEG and Epilepsy in 2007, he joined the faculty at USC and created an epilepsy monitoring unit at Rancho Los Amigos for Los Angeles County to provide advanced diagnostic care and treatment for hundreds of underserved patients with severe epilepsy.

In recognition of these efforts, Dr. Millett was recently recognized by the Epilepsy Foundation as the 2016 Honoree at the annual Hidden Truths: Art and Epilepsy event. Dr. Millett is involved in multiple research projects and educational programs, and regularly lectures on various aspects of epilepsy for patients, families, and health care professionals. Vivek Mehta, MD currently serves as the Surgical Director of the Hoag Comprehensive Epilepsy Program with particular expertise in complex and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery. He is a member of the Hoag Epilepsy Surgery Program at the Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute.  He was raised in Orange County and completed medical school with Alpha Omega Alpha Honors at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In college, he was named to the USA Today All-Academic First Team as one of the top 20 college students in the United States.  After completing medical school, Dr. Mehta completed advanced training in neurosurgery at the University of Southern California under Drs. Michael Apuzzo, Martin Weiss, Gordon McComb and Steven Giannotta, and in Epilepsy and Stereotactic Neurosurgery with Dr. Charles Liu.  Learn more.
