YASIR N. JASSAM, MD
Yasir Jassam, MBChB, MRCP(UK), is a neurologist and a neuroimmunologist. After graduating from medical school, he received post graduate training in both internal medicine and neurology. He completed Core Medical Training (CMT) in Cambridge
University Hospitals in the United Kingdom (UK), he also earned the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK and a diploma in neuroimaging for research from the University of Edinburgh.
After moving to the U.S, Dr. Jassam completed neurology residency training in Tufts University in Boston, MA where he also served as a chief resident in neurology.
He then trained as a clinical fellow in neuroimmunology at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), which is part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

His focus of specialty includes autoimmune neurological and neuroinflammatory disorders such as Multiple sclerosis, Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO), autoimmune encephalitis, transverse myelitis, optic neuritis, CNS vasculitis, neuro-sarcoidosis and others. He also has interest in medical myelopathies and non-surgical disorders of the spinal cord.

Vivek Mehta, MD is a Neurosurgeon with particular expertise in complex and minimally invasive brain and spine surgery. He currently serves as the Surgical Director of the Hoag Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.

Ashley Miller, Ph.D., ABPP-CN is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist. Her clinical areas of interest include neurodegenerative diseases, movement disorders, cerebrovascular disease/stroke, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive concerns in the context of other medical conditions and/or psychiatric illness.
VI BURGAN, MSN, APN, FNP-BC
Vi Burgan is a compassionate board-certified nurse practitioner with a background in neuroscience nursing. She works alongside Dr. Vivek Mehta as part of Hoag’s Neurosurgery Program. Vi also serves as the first assistant in surgery and round on patients in the ED and inpatient unit.
