ANDREW LY, MD
Andrew Ly, MD is a board-certified member of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has being practicing Neurology in Newport Beach since 2008 and currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Neurology at Hoag Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach. He practices a wide spectrum of neurological diseases, and works as a Neurohospitalist caring for patients with critical neurological problems in the hospital. He is also intimately involved as member of the Stroke team at Hoag.
He is the co-director of the Neurophysiology lab at the Hoag Hospital. Given his fellowship training in Neurophysiology, he has expertise in neuromuscular disorders and epilepsy. He has extensive experience in procedures including nerve conduction/electromyography (EMG/NCS), Intraoperative NeuroMonitoring (IOM), continuous bedside EEG monitoring, and admission to the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).
In addition, Andrew Ly is advising and leading the charge in developing a concussion/head injury program for the community.
Andrew Ly grew up locally in Orange County. After attending medical school in Rosalind Franklin Medical University/Chicago Medical School he returned to Southern California to finish his Neurology residency at LA County/USC General Hospital and Neurophysiology fellowship at USC/Keck School of Medicine.
He hopes to provide a level of care to his patients that not only assists in the healing of their condition in specificity but to also to help intertwine the healing of the mind, body, and spirit. With an insatiable curiosity for life, he purposefully continues to pursuit and further discover the unknown pieces and disconnected dots within neurology and the human life, ultimately hoping to contribute his best work through his experiences in every patient interaction.
