Jay Puangco, MD is one of the most sought after sleep physicians in Orange County. He is highly respected amongst his colleagues and well loved by his patients due to his compassionate approach to care. He is double board certified in both neurology and sleep medicine. Jay currently serves as Chief of Service for the Hoag Voltmer Sleep Center. During his tenure there, he has developed the successful cognitive behavioral therapy program for insomnia. He has also created programs to work closely with cardiologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, dentists, and ENT surgeons to treat all aspects of sleep disorders.
He received his medical training from the University of Texas at Houston Medical School. He moved to California to complete his residency training in neurology at USC. After residency he completed a dual fellowship training in neurophysiology at USC and Sleep Medicine at UCLA. He is currently a Diplomate of the American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He also holds the prestigious status of Fellow in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
